THE PEACE OF GOD

House of Shalom | Part 1

We all want peace. Right? Does anyone want anarchy? I guess maybe some do, but most of us want peace. Tranquility. No issues with others.

Shalom, state of being:

Irene, multi-faceted definition of Peace (definition from Strong’s concordance)

  • a state of national tranquillity exemption from the rage and havoc of war

  • peace between individuals

  • i.e. harmony

  • concord security

  • Safety

  • prosperity

  • Felicity (great happiness) because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous)of the Messiah's peace

  • the way that leads to peace (salvation)

  • Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is the blessed state of devout and upright people after death

Characteristics of a house:

  • Roof protects from the elements

  • Walls protect from outside dangers

  • Rooms contain different experiences for different needs/wants

  • Windows provide the opportunity to see things objectively

  • Doorway allows entrance and security

Philippians 4:4-5 | Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;
  • What is the context here?

  • Find joy when? Always

  • Practice reason, therefore you will be known as reasonable

  • Tone, Volume, and Speed of communication should be processed

  • The Lord is at hand. He’s present!!

God with us.

God Strengthens us.

God for us.

Philippians 4:6 | do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
  • No need to be anxious. God is giving you permission to stop in His name

Isaiah 41:10 | Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.

God is with me

God strengthens me

God is for me

  • What’s next?

  • What is God calling us to do? Our own thing? Nope. To obey Him. The answers to our issues are found in the following:

1.) Prayer

  • An offering of worship to God

2.) Supplication

  • Consistency, a petition

3.) Thanks

  • God owes you nothing, you owe Him everything

Not:

1.) Worry/Anxiety

2.) Erratic behavior (excess of anything)

3.) Bitterness at God

  • The first three are disciplines

  • The second three are bad habits

Philippians 4:7 | And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Result:

1.) Peace of God comes over you (house, roof, walls, windows)

2.) It will be supernatural

3.) His Shalom will guard you (door)

  • The door is where we enter

  • The door is only opened to God’s chosen guests

4.) God’s mindset will be your mindset

1st Corinthians 2:16 | “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

5.) His Peace (Irene) will refresh you. Protect you. Empower you. Enable you.

House of Shalom

  • Anxiety and fear are neutralized

  • Self-righteous anger is wiped away

  • A clear mindset of History, Present, and Future

  • Joy is restored

  • Purpose and Calling are clarified
